Area Charts¶
Area charts are similar to line charts with filled regions under the series.
Goal¶
Create a Area chart on the report.
Prerequisites¶
- Category and value fields available from the dataset
Steps¶
- Insert a Chart and open the Chart Wizard or Properties.
- Set chart type to Area (or the closest matching option, such as Horizontal Bar / Stacked Bar when applicable).
- Assign the category field and value series.
- Configure legend, axis titles, and colors.
- Preview.

Result¶
The chart renders in Preview using the bound data.
Tips¶
Tip
Area charts work well for cumulative totals over an ordered axis.
