Single Parameters

A single-value parameter accepts one value at a time — for example one date or one region code.

Goal

Create a single-selection parameter and use it in a query or expression.

Prerequisites

• A report is open on the Data tab

Steps

1. Open Parameter Manager.
2. Add a parameter and set its name and type.
3. Set selection mode to single (not multiple).
4. Optionally enable a lookup query for a drop-down list.
5. Set a prompt label users will understand.
6. Save the parameter.
7. Reference it in Query Builder filters or in Text Field expressions.

Result

At Preview, the user enters or selects one value for the parameter.
