WMS¶
Use Web Map Service (WMS) to display layers from a WMS connection.
Goal¶
Configure a map that uses the WMS source.
Prerequisites¶
- A map element is on the canvas
- Required connections exist in Connection Manager (when applicable)
Steps¶
- Add a WMS connection in Connection Manager.
- Test the connection so layers can be discovered.
- Set the map source to Web Map Service (WMS).
- Select the connection, layer, style, and image format/CRS as offered.
- Preview.

Result¶
Preview renders features from the WMS source inside the map frame.
Tips¶
Tip
Prefer PNG when you need transparent overlays.
