GIS Functions

GIS functions help calculate geometry-related values using AcuGIS map helpers available to expressions.

Goal

Insert a GIS helper (for example area, length, or geometry-related conversion) into an expression.

Prerequisites

  • Map/GIS runtime components available in your Report Studio installation
  • A connection/dataset that provides geometry where required

Steps

  1. Open the Expression Builder.
  2. Choose the GIS category.
  3. Insert the function template.
  4. Supply geometry arguments as indicated by the function signature.
  5. Preview.

Tips

Note

GIS expression helpers share geometry handling with the map renderer. If a GIS function fails at Preview, verify the map runtime is installed and the geometry argument is valid.
