Column Header

The Column Header sits above the Detail band and typically holds column titles for tabular layouts.

Goal

Use the Column Header band correctly in your report layout.

Prerequisites

  • A report is open on the Design tab

Steps

  1. Open the Design tab.
  2. In the Design explorer, select the Column Header band (create or enable it if your report does not show it yet).
  3. Set the band height in Properties if needed.
  4. Place elements (labels, fields, images, and so on) inside the band.

  1. Preview the report to confirm the band prints at the expected time.

Result

Content in the Column Header band appears according to the band’s role in the page/group lifecycle.

Tips

Tip

Align Column Header labels with the Text Fields in the Detail band for clean tables.

Note

When using a Table element, column headers may be managed inside the table structure instead of (or in addition to) this band.
