Report Bands¶
Bands divide a report into regions that print at specific times — once per report, once per page, once per group, or once per detail row.
Goal¶
Choose the right band for each piece of content.
Band roles¶
| Band | Prints when |
|---|---|
| Title | At the beginning of the report |
| Page Header | At the top of each page |
| Column Header | Above detail columns (typically each page) |
| Detail | Once for each data row |
| Group Header | At the start of each group |
| Group Footer | At the end of each group |
| Column Footer | Below detail columns |
| Page Footer | At the bottom of each page |
| Summary | At the end of the report |

Tips¶
Tip
Put repeating column titles in Column Header, not in Detail, so they do not reprint on every row.
Note
Groups are created with the Group workflow in Design. Group Header and Group Footer appear after a group is defined.
