QGIS Server¶
The QGIS Server map source renders layers through a QGIS Server connection defined in Connection Manager.
QGIS Desktop designs the map (symbology, labels, layer order). AcuGIS Report Designer does not edit QGIS projects. QGIS Server serves the map over WMS. Designer consumes that served map, the same way it consumes GeoServer.
Goal¶
Configure a map that uses the QGIS Server source.
Prerequisites¶
- A map element is on the canvas
- A QGIS Server connection exists in Connection Manager
- A QGIS project (
.qgs/.qgz) is available on the QGIS Server (for Docker, place it indocker/qgis/projects/)
Steps¶
- Add a QGIS Server connection (service URL, optional project filename, credentials as required).
- Test the connection.
- On the map, choose QGIS Server and select that connection.
- Enter or confirm the QGIS project filename (for example
planning.qgz). Do not enter filesystem paths. - Pick the layer (and named WMS style when QGIS Server advertises one).
- Preview.

Result¶
Preview renders the QGIS-styled map from QGIS Server inside the map frame. Cartography stays in the QGIS project.
Tips¶
Tip
Use the same connection display name on AcuGIS Report Server when publishing maps that must resolve server-side. Designer may use https://reports.example.com/qgis/; Report Server Docker may use the internal http://qgis-server URL for the same connection name.
Warning
Project values are filenames only (planning.qgz). Arbitrary MAP= paths are rejected.
