Detail¶
The Detail band repeats once per row returned by the report query. Place fields, small charts, or map frames that should appear for each record.
Goal¶
Use the Detail band correctly in your report layout.
Prerequisites¶
- A report is open on the Design tab
Steps¶
- Open the Design tab.
- In the Design explorer, select the Detail band (create or enable it if your report does not show it yet).
- Set the band height in Properties if needed.
- Place elements (labels, fields, images, and so on) inside the band.

- Preview the report to confirm the band prints at the expected time.
Result¶
Content in the Detail band appears according to the band’s role in the page/group lifecycle.
Tips¶
Tip
Keep Detail height modest when printing many rows. Tall detail bands increase page count quickly.

Expressions and formatting on Detail fields are evaluated for every row.
