Snowflake¶
Connect to Snowflake so you can browse schemas, build queries, and use spatial columns in map reports.
Goal¶
Create a working Snowflake connection in Connection Manager and use it as a report Data Source.
Prerequisites¶
- A Snowflake account identifier
- A username, plus a password or a key-pair private key
- Network access from your workstation

Notes¶
Note
External browser / SSO and OAuth are not available yet.
Note
Show system schemas is off by default.
Note
Passwords and private-key passphrases are stored in the operating system credential store, not in the report.
Tip
GEOGRAPHY and GEOMETRY columns can be used with the Snowflake Spatial map source. See Maps.
Result¶
The connection appears in Connection Manager and can be selected for queries and for Snowflake Spatial maps.
