Glossary¶
Short definitions of terms used in AcuGIS Report Studio.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Band | A horizontal region of the report that prints at a specific time (title, detail, footer, and so on). |
| Connection Manager | Dialog for creating and testing data and map service connections. |
| Detail band | Band that repeats once per data row. |
| Expression | A formula that calculates a Text Field or property value. |
| Expression Builder | Dialog for assembling expressions from fields, parameters, and functions. |
| ArcGIS Feature Server | ArcGIS service used as a report data source and as a map layer source. |
| GeoServer | Spatial server used as a report data source and as a map layer source. |
| Group | A partition of rows that share a key; has header and footer bands. |
| JRXML | JasperReports XML report definition exported by Report Studio. |
| Map source | Origin of map imagery/features (PostGIS, WMS, ArcGIS, and others). |
| Parameter | A runtime value supplied at Preview (and later on the server). |
| PostGIS | Spatial extension for PostgreSQL. |
| Preview | On-screen PDF rendering of the current report. |
| project.json | Editable report project file — the source of truth in Report Studio. |
| Query Builder | Visual/SQL tool for defining the report dataset. |
| Report Studio | AcuGIS desktop designer application documented in this guide. |
| Theme | Preset fonts/colors/styles applied to a report. |
| WMS | Web Map Service — standard for requesting map images. |
